Finally, The Name

Naming our baby boy has been a true chore. With Kayleigh, the day we found out that she was a girl we had a name for her. This baby did not have a name until a few days ago and I am due in less than a month. Sean and I went round and round with names, but could only agree on Casey. We couldn't commit to Casey because it is gender neutral (you will thank us one day, little guy.) Finally, we agreed on Luke Kevin. Kayleigh's middle name was in honor of my mom, so Sean got to choose this little guys middle name. He is named in honor of Sean's dad. I get the next baby's middle name, so I am starting to take bribes now (hint, hint). After a couple of days and me embroidering several things with Luke on them, Sean got up the guts to tell me that he just really didn't feel a "connection" to Luke. I gave him until midnight to come up with something else. The only other name that we could agree on was Casen, which was very close to Casey our favorite name. So, Casen Kevin it is. AND yes, with our last name (which I purposefully leave off my blog) it is a mouthful, but we LOVE it.

Daddy's List:
- Padrig (No kidding!)
- Gavin
- Casey
- Graden (STILL don't know if Sean was serious about this one)

Mommy's List:
- Easton
- Luke
- Casey
- Caden

PS - If anyone knows a baby being born anytime soon with the name Luke, I have several burp cloths already embroidered that you can have.

Big Girl Bed!

Well, we took the plunge. Kayleigh is sleeping in her big girl bed that GP made her as we speak. We have been talking about it for days, but when it came down to it she DID NOT want to sleep in there! She cried and kept following us out. Finally Sean layed on the floor until she settled down and she has been in there ever since. I will update you on how it went in the morning.

PS - Isn't her room divine? I can't believe I have posted a picture of it yet, maybe tomorrow. It is my favorite room in the house.

Welcome Baby Hayes!

Kristy had her baby this week. His name is Hayes and he quite possibly the sweetest, squishiest thing you have ever seen.
The Bear still hasn't gotten her hands on him yet because she has had a stuffy nose and I would feel HORRIBLE if he got sick. The Bear is obsessed with babies so I am sure she would be right up in his face. I have been showing her pictures of him and every time she picks up something for our baby she says I need to take it to baby Hayes.

Ok now Hayes, you tell your best buddy Casen that he needs to come out and play with you!

BU Basketball

Kayleigh and I went to our first Baylor Basketball game last night. Daddy has had season tickets for the past couple of years, and we have never gone. Now that we are in Waco it is much easier. The Bear liked it alot! There was so much there for her to look at. She clapped along with the band and held her hand up when they did free throws. The whole time she kept her eye on the bear because she "no like bear," but thankfully her didn't come see her.

When I asked her this morning if she like the game she told me that she liked the cotton candy. She is such a Momma's girl.

PAINT

The weather has been so nice lately that the Bear and I have been going outside and painting while we are waiting on Daddy to come home. She asks to do it just about every day. I LOVE going out there with her, because... well.... I like to paint too!

Plant with Nana

I have a BLACK thumb, thankfully my mom has a green one. She offered to come over and plant some left over pansies in my front flower beds (isn't that sweet!). Of course she want help from the Bear as they have planted together at her house. When Kayleigh woke up from her nap that day, I told her Nana was coming over to plant flowers with her. She got excited because she thought Nana was going to PAINT flowers.... that kid loves to paint. It took a while, but she got it straightened out. Thanks Mom! I am going to do my very best to keep them alive!

"Baby Jesus That"

I won this Nativity set at MOPS a couple of weeks ago. Funny enough, it has become one of her favorite toys (goes to show that not EVERYTHING needs to make noise and light up). She loves to find "Baby JEsus Mommy" and "Baby Jesus Daddy." She counts the 3 wise men, and always puts the shepards with their sheep. She always makes sure that the "Princesses (angels) are close to Baby Jesus. It has been so fun to talk to her about it, though I am not quite sure that she gets it at all.

Best Friend

This morning on the way to Mother's Day Out I asked Kayleigh if I was still her best friend. She said no, that White Dog is her best friend. Ouch.

Flowers!

Right now Kayleigh is obsessed with picking flowers EVERYWHERE we go. She asks all day long if she can go in the front yard and pick flowers. She picks them at church, at Mother's day out, and at the park. Anywhere she can find one. Now, we are working on which flowers you can and CANNOT pick. She CAN pick the weeds in the front yard, she CANNOT pick the pansies in the flower bed.

Gearing Up

We have started dragging in all of the baby gear getting ready for the baby to make his entrance in 5 weeks or less! Kayleigh is LOVING it. Her babies have tried out everything in preparation for her brother's arrival . Her favorite is the swing, she will swing and swing and swing her babies.

Halloween - Take 2

Construction worker, Cheerleader, Ladybug, and a A&M Yell Leader

We had a little Halloween party for the kiddos on Friday. Sadly, a couple of them were out of town. We dressed up the kids and let them play with orange playdough and paint pumpkins. Kayleigh had a blast and would not quit talking about painting her pumpkin.

I got a ton of pictures that I may or may not get around to editing.

In case you wanted to see it, here is her pumpkin.

Amazing....

How BIG they get SO quickly.

Halloween - Take 1

Ok, I will admit it... I am a Halloween Scrooge. It just isn't that big of a deal to me and this year it went on all week long, so I was pretty over it by the end. Our first event this year was to go Trick or Treating out at Baylor in the dorms. Now, if you are looking to get candy this is the thing to do. We went to Collin's and only did 3 floors and left with a bag FULL of candy. The girls were so into it. The Bear was very unsure at first and was putting the candy back that they would give her. Soon, she was a pro and really raked it in! I think she enjoyed it, and I have enjoyed the candy.

The Bear on the 5th (my) floor of Collin's, and yes that is how she insisted on carrying her bag.

National Blogging Month

November again? Again, I will help to celebrate NaBloPoMo I will TRY to post 30 posts. I will not commit to everyday, but by December I will hopefully have the same amount of posts as days. I know, I am a cheater..... but anyone who knows me knows that I have always been one (ask my little brother). Please have mercy on me if I don't live up to my challenge, I am afterall like 8 and a half months pregnant ( man, I love pulling the pregnancy card).
