Gone Camping

Me, obviously helping set up camp.

VERY cold water!

We went camping this week with our friends Jen and Glenn. I haven't slept in a tent since the time we camped in Colorado when I was younger. I don't remember liking it, but I LOVED it this time. Our site was right on the Guadalupe. We went floating during the day and went into Gruene during the day. I have way too many pictures to share with you.... sorry!

Tomorrow you can expect birthday party pictures!

First cake

We celebrated the Bear's real birthday on Thursday night. We had a nice dinner, Kayleigh got a couple of little gifts ( a xylophone and a book) and got to eat her first cupcake. Considering she will eat pretty much anything, of course she devoured her treat. It was so much fun to watch her. She gets more cake tomorrow at her party!

Happy Birthday Kayleigh!

My sweet Kayleigh Bear,

I cannot believe that you are one year old today. It truly seems like just yesterday that we got to meet you for the first time. You have brought more joy to my life than you will ever know. You have helped to show me what life is all about. From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew life would never be the same. You were the most perfect baby, so relaxed and easy going. And know you are a toddler and destroying my house. As sad as I am that you are growing everyday, I cannot wait to see the woman that you will become. I love you more than anything in the world.
Happy Birthday Baby Bear, let's go eat some cake!
Love,
Mommy

I sure know how to waste time.

I have a thousand things I need to be doing to prepare for Kayleigh's little party and our camping trip and what am I doing instead? ... making animals out of fondant. Why?... just to see if I could.

eesh.... it's a wonder ANYTHING gets done around here.

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today, I went into the hospital for my induction. My stubborn Bear did not decide to make her debut until something like 30 hours later. Having Kayleigh was the most amazing experience I have ever had and if we had all the money in the world, I would to it 10 more times (don't worry, that will never happen!). The closer we get to her birthday, the more I am starting to realize that I don't have a little baby any more. I most definitely have a toddler. Every morning when I go get her out of the crib, I can't help but think that she grew over night. I fall even further in love with her everyday. I just absolutely can't imagine what I ever did before her. I will save the rest of this sappy post for her birthday.

Funny Eater

When the Bear eats, she usually keeps a handful of the good stuff in her right hand while she eats with the left one. So strange, I guess she is saving some for later?

Open the Door, Close the Door

This was Kayleigh's game for about 10 minutes this afternoon while I was working on part of her birthday cake. Who knew this was so much fun!

Crumbs

I don't know about y'all, but I LOVE Long John Silver's. I was just having "one of those days" today. Grumpy, upset tummy, baby with a little fever, and Sean had a meeting tonight. He was super sweet and went and got me Long John's so I could make it through the evening without him.

When did they start putting crumbs in their own container?

When will we learn our lesson?

Kayleigh keeps taking her diaper off when we put her down without pants on. It is disgusting. Maybe one day we will get it into our thick heads to PUT PANTS ON HER! Until then, we will keep washing her sheets and scrubbing her mattress everytime.

New Toy

We have been wanting a camera that we can just take places with us. Mine is way to large just to take to places like the mall so we can capture pictures like this:

And so Sean can take pictures of the Bear and I. (I went blonde again)

Hey Look!

I finally got around to rounding up the blogs I read to share with you. Look in the right bar.

Picky Picky!

For a while, the Bear was obsessed with Cheerios. I was pumped because I buy them off brand and they are SOOO cheap. Well, recently she has learned about Goldfish Crackers. Cheerios have taken a back seat. Being cheap, I have been trying to trick her by mixing goldfish with Cheerios. What does she do? Pick out the Cheerios and THROW THEM ON THE GROUND!

Just Making a Mess.....

As usual.

Oh, and just look at that BELLY! I weighed her yesterday, she is a whopping 25 pounds! No wonder I get tired carrying her.

The Pointer

Kayleigh is SUCH a pointer. She points at everything... Cosmo, Mommy, Daddy, the phone, random people, the fan, the sky..... I have a feeling my first parental lesson will be "it is not nice to point."

Pick-Pocket

I'm not sure where she found this money, but she carried it around for half an hour. I tried to take it from her because we all know how gross money is, but she got mad. I decided it was not a battle I wanted to fight today. When she finally put it down, I put it in her piggy bank.

What a Mess!

Since she started really walking, she is truly into everything! Notice that she is carrying her bow around with her!

Destrcutive

We have a little bit of a tearing problem. Lately, every piece of paper Kayleigh gets her hands on has a similar fate. I hope she grows out of this one QUICKLY!

What a cute little boy!

Sean spent last week in Chicago with his friends and he brought Kayleigh back a Cubs shirt from Wrigley Field. Though I think she looks like a girl no matter what, I still put a bow on her just in case. Well, of course she didn't feel like leaving the bow in today (some days she will.... some days she won't). While we were grocery shopping, a lady told me that Kayleigh was such a cute boy. In this outfit, I couldn't argue with her, I just said "thanks."

Bath Time

The Bear has been getting a bath in the sink while I stay at my parent's house. She thinks it is great.

I wish I had more pictures of Waco for you, but my camera battery is almost dead and I didn't bring a charger. So, other than this picture of Oriental Fries from Kitok's you probably won't see many more pictures from me for a couple of days!

The Glennifer

The Fam.

My friend Jen snapped a couple of pictures of us at the Mckinney Ice Cream Churn off on Saturday. I just got around to editing them today. Thanks Jen, I love them!

The Park

We took the Bear to the playground for the first time tonight. She swung for about half an hour, she loved it! It was fun to spend some sweet, fun time as a family.

Ok, Have you ever seen one of these? IT was SO much fun!
