Something About Casen

This little one has completely taken my heart. After having the Bear I truly never thought I could love another little toot as much as I adore her (even though I offered her to the lady in front of me at HEB Friday who told me that she was so sweet while she was laying on the ground screaming because I wouldn't buy her more Chapstick in the checkout line). There is just something about this little guy. Maybe it's his cute personality. Maybe it's the little smirk. Maybe it's the cute little peak that his hairline makes. Maybe it's the way he locks eyes with me. Maybe it's because he snores louder than Sean. Maybe it's the man burps. Maybe it's the fact that his head smells just like Sean's (weird, I know). Maybe it's the fact that he has been letting me sleep 6 hours in a row! Whatever it is, there is something special about my sweet, sweet baby boy.

My Sweetie

My sweet little girl loves to entertain her brother. Here she is "reading" him a book and pointing out all of the animals to him. If I would have snapped the shutter about 10 seconds later you would have seen her shoving the book in his face because he was not looking at the lion.... ahh, so sweet.

Take It My Picture, Mommy!

My Little Helper

I have been inspired by some friends to start cooking more from scratch. Truthfully I hate cooking and baking and all that goes with it.... especially the clean up. BUT I am trying my best to save money and to not feed our family junk. Kayleigh has really enjoyed this change because I let her help everyday. She helps me measure and stir..... and of course lick the spatula.... and then dip the spatula back in and lick it again.

Kayleigh's Guitar

... well, actually it's a ukulele. Sean has been dying to buy Kayleigh a guitar and finally came home with one the other day. She is hilarious with it. She strums and plays her favorite songs like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Where is Thumbkin.

Go Bears!

Kayleigh has been accompanying daddy to the Baylor Basketball games. She OF COURSE has to wear her cheerleader outfit so that she can dance around and yell "go Bears." This particular even she insisted on wearing her pink boots.

I Show You, Casen.

Kayleigh is already dying to play with Casen. She loves to show him her toys. Here she is showing him how to build a "really tall one" with her blocks. She can't wait to play dollies with him, she asks just about everyday and I have to remind her just about everyday that he is still too little. At least she likes him!

One Month Old...

Where DOES the time go?

How Much?

Bear: Mommy Hand-burga?
Me: Oh, Yummy. I would LOVE one. How much is it?
Bear: Hummm... et's (let's) see. (scans hamburger while holding chapstick) It'ssss "two" much.

I'm sure she didn't learn that from her cheap momma!

First Bottle

We gave Casen his first bottle this week.
It took him 40 minutes to take ONE ounce, so I guess we need to try a different kind of bottle.

Share Bear

Kayleigh has really started to get alot sweeter with Casen. She has started to help me out a little more and have less tantrums. Don't get me wrong, she still throws shoes and has a fits.... but it is getting better. She has even started sharing "White Doggy" (NOT to be confused with her precious "White Dog name Kayleigh on it") with him.

Sharing a sweet moment together.

Such a Good Sport

Kayleigh really though Casen needed to play dress up with her. He didn't seem to mind one bit. She desperately wanted to put her clip on earrings on him, and I obliged. I can't believe that I didn't take a picture of it! The Bear could not stop laughing!

First Cloth Diaper

Casen's First Bath

He pretty much loved it, he only cried for a few minutes.

...and YES we bathed him a long time ago, I am just behind on blogging.

Christmas Blogging

Christmas blogging is done.... Scroll on down!

Christmas Day

This is just a hodge podge of pictures from Christmas. Sean took most of them because I was a little out of it since Casen had not slept well the night before.

We spent the morning with Sean's family and the afternoon with mine. It was a long day and by the end of it Kayleigh had had enough. We loved spending time with our families. We ate too much and got way too many presents.... so it was a GOOD DAY.

Never Want to Put Him Down!

Visit with Santa

Since Casen was only a week old, we decided it was not a good idea to drive to NorthPark to see the fancy Santa this year. So we settled for Waco Santa. Kayleigh had been telling me for weeks that she didn't want to sit on Santa's lap, so I figured it wouldn't go well. When we got there she started acting pretty shy, but then she saw the snow. By snow I mean soap bubbles blown in the air, but she ate it anyway.... ick. Anyway, she was not crazy about Santa but this year she held back her tears. She even told him what she wanted for Christmas... "cookies."

Christmas Cooking

This year I actually cooked for our Christmas family celebrations. I have never done this before, I guess you can say I have been a moocher. Casen and I made broccoli cheese rice casserole (is this what it is called mom?) and Not Yo Momma's Banana Pudding. Casen was a good little helper as you can see. Hopefully next year I will cook more.

Cookies for Santa

The Bear and I made cookies to leave out for Santa. She kept calling it playdough, it was hilarious! In true Kayleigh fashion, she was very particular about which cutters to use.

... and of COURSE her favorite part was to help clean up.

I am sure Santa loved them!

3 Weeks Old

Weight: 8 pounds 14 ounces
Length: 21 inches

You are still such a sweet baby. You love to be cuddled for hours, which Daddy and I love. You eat at midnight, 5:30ish, and 8:30ish which I think is great. You love to be carried around in the baby carrier and will sleep for hours in it while I play with your sister and clean the house. You burp like a grown man, it catches me off guard every time. I love you so much, baby boy!
