Day 30

Poor Cosmo, since most of our attention goes to Kayleigh now, he has made best friends with this sock. He carries it around, plays tug of war with it and naps with it. It is kinda sad.

Day 29

Kayleigh had her 6 month appointment today. The doctor was impressed with how strong she was. After her shots, she got a Hannah Montana sticker. I was going to get a picture, but daddy had already tossed it. For those that care, here are her stats:
Height: 26 1/4 inches (74th percentile)
Weight: 18 pounds (88th percentile)
Head Circumference: 43 inches? ( 55th percentile)

She is grumpy now between the shots and the runny nose she has been fighting. She did get a little time in to read a book about baby animals.

Day 28

Just working on my black and whites. With the exception of the blowout at the top, what do you think?

Day 27

Amanda, this one's for you! Kayeigh adores her new shoes. From the moment I put them on her she just sits, stares, and grabs at them!

Day 26

We just got this toy running for Kayleigh. She LOVES it. She just sits and watches the balls come out and drop down. She even tries to catch them!

Day 25

My first try at texture, I'm not crazy about it.

Day 24

Doesn't my baby look happy to be 6 months old? I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. She is so curious and everything that she investigates goes straight to her mouth. She can sit up and flip flop her way to something that she wants. She loves her dog-brother almost as much as she loves daddy.

Day 23

How cute am I in daddy's hat? I actually wore it for quite a while.

Day 21

Tonight Sean and I went to the rock climbing gym. Talk about trust. There is nothing like being 30 feet up in the air and hoping that your husband does not let you just fall. It was fun to watch Sean because he is really into climbing right now. I thought it was fun, but I am positive it will not be my next favorite hobby.

Day 20

I love this picture.

Day 19

Ok, so I cheated. I posted 2 pictures today, but it was a big day!

First I participated in my first 5K with my friends Caroline and Linda. I had a lovely time considering it felt like 14 degrees out! Maybe next time we will go on the 5K track and NOT the 15k.

Then, my friends came in for my birthday. We ate Sprinkles cupcakes and went to Fondue. Then, we had a slumber party.... without babies. I miss them dearly.

Day 18

I LOVE LOVE LOVE bouncing my flash! Look at this cute little girl, she is getting closer to being mobile....EEEK!

Day 17

Happy Birthday to me!
It was a great day. For the first time, my class had a party for me. Every student brought me a flower and my room moms put them in a vase for me. Aren't they pretty? Then Sean and I went and saw Juno together. It was the first movie that we had seen since Kayleigh has been born. Of course, I got lots of pretty gifts too!

Day 16

Dear Cadbury Egg,
Thank you for being there for me while I worked on report cards.
Love, Michelle

Day 15

Obviously, I didn't take this picture! I have been wanting pictures of Kayleigh and I so badly. I set the exposure on my camera and gave Sean a much needed lesson in focus. I think this might be my favorite picture of all time.

Day 14

I desperately want to call myself a runner. I have been doing the Couch to 5K program. Previously, I only ran it something was chasing me. I am really proud that I have completed week 1.

Day 13

Serously, what's not to love about a fat baby wrist? This was my first custom white balance attempt. I think I did it wrong, it had a really blue cast to it! Ughhh.

Day 12

I never understood responsibility fully until Kayleigh came alone. So far in my life, no one has ever demanded so much of me. The strange thing is, meeting her every need does not seem like a chore to me. I mean sure, I pawn dirty diapers off on daddy.... but you know what I mean.

Day 11

I just couldn't help myself.

Friday, January 11, 2008

Day 10

I played with bounced flash last night. I totally dig the way that it looks so natural. I decided to try something new. I turned this one to black and white, then reduced the opacity a little. I like how it looks old. I promise I will start posting more pictures of things and not Kayleigh.

Wednesday, January 9, 2008

Day 9

I am attempting to lose the rest of this nasty baby weight....BUT then I was walking through WalMart. These little guys called to me, so OF COURSE I needed them. These are my favorite Valentine's candy. At least I am able to practice self control.... I only ate one while taking this picture.

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

Day 8

Kayleigh can hold her bottle! Note the use of knuckles instead of hands! I don't care, it is just nice to set her down for a few seconds while I am feed her and not have scream at me!

Day 7

I have hundreds of pictures of my first baby, Cosmo. He will just sit and let me take pictures of him all day long. He is really starting to like Kayleigh. Last night they sat on the floor and played for a while. He covers her in "kisses."

Day 6

I know, it has been done a millon times.... but not with my sweet baby. She actually loved this because she could get to her feet so easily to chew on them!
Does anyone know what that strange halo is around her? If you click on the picture, it disappears.

Monday, January 7, 2008

Day 5

Typical Saturday morning at our house.

Friday, January 4, 2008

Day 4

I could sit and watch Kayleigh sleep like this all day. There is nothing in the world more serene than watching a baby snooze away. I'm in love.

Thursday, January 3, 2008

Day 3

On my quest to become Super Mom, I have decided to make my own baby food. I mean, why not? It will save us a bundle on mushy fruits and veggies, and it makes me feel better that I can be sure that she is not eating pesticides and such. So far I have steamed, pureed, strained, and frozen bananas, carrots (as pictured), sweet potatoes, and avocados. We have enough to last at least a month, maybe two! Let's see how long this lasts after I go back to work next week.

Day 2

Poor Kayleigh usually does not have on matching socks. For some reason they seem to get eaten by the washing machine, or dog, or dresser drawer, or couch cushions.... I thought today's set was exceptionally nice.... one black mary jane sock and one purple one.

Day 1

ICK... I despise black eyed peas. Every year I will swallow just one for 2 reasons. 1: for good luck 2: to appease my mother who made them every New Year's day. As we rung in 2008, Sean got his first taste of these little legumes.... and hopefully a year of good luck!
