Let's Go Fly a Kite

When Sean has an idea, he cannot get it out of his head. Take for example, the kite. Sean decided last week that he needed a kite, not just any kite, a cool (read: more expensive than The Dollar Tree) kite. So he of course found a place to get one and bought it. Then he took me with him to fly it.

It took 15 minutes just to put it together. I snapped some pretty pictures of weeds at sunset.

Then it wouldn't fly because we set up shop in what my fourth graders know as a landform called a basin. Not much good wind down there. So the kite kept getting tangled.

After about 30 tries of me holding up the kite, Sean running with it, the kite taking a nose dive back into the earth, he FINALLY got it flying! (can you see him? he and the kite are REALLY small).

I'm glad he used his allowance on it, I have a feeling I won't be seeing it again anytime soon!

Swimming - Day 2

The second time we went swimming, it was late in the day and the bear had not had her nap. She didn't enjoy it as much.
Can you see me? I was there, I am just not about to plaster a picture of me in a bathing suit on the internet...... ick! This is the best that you will get!
Splish, Splash!
Grammy came to the pool with us. I wasn't sure if she wanted her picture in a bathing suit on the internet, so I left her off.

Jack In The Box

Kayleigh's grammy brought her this Jack in the Box when she came to visit this weekend. Kayleigh said to tell you thank you, grammy. She loves it! How priceless is the first picture?

Swimming!

We took the Bear swimming for the first time on Saturday. I think I was just as excited as she was! She stayed in the water for about an hour. She had the best time splashing and kicking. She floated around in her crabby float for a little bit. I am so excited that she liked it! You will find us at the pool everyday this summer!

Sporting her new bikini! I SO wish that I had her confidence by the pool!

You know it's time to go home when the baby is sleepy and pruny!

Light.

10 Months Old!

My baby bear is now 10 months old! Seems pretty unbelievable to me! I know I am her mom and I HAVE to say this, but she seriously gets cuter ever day! She is starting to be such a mess!
Some of her 10 month memories:
Kayleigh is into everything now!
She says Da da while looking at Sean, Ma ma is still questionable.
She eats pretty much anything cut up small. Her favorite is turkey deli meat.
She is walking up and down the furniture while holding on.
She is starting to get more personality and has added 2 quite funny faces to her repertoire, one surprised and one mad.
She is drinking formula out of a cup a couple times a day.
She is taking on 2 to 3 hour nap a day.
She likes to "walk" around the house while holding your hand.
She has started sleeping with a bear at night.

Sometimes we will let Kayleigh play in her little area. Suddenly it will get quite so we will check on her and she will be reading her books. This animal book is STILL her absolute favorite. Thanks Billy Jane! I love to sit with her and make all of the animal noises for her. She looks at me like I am crazy!

I made this top last week. Please excuse the wrinkles, I wore it to school today. Kayleigh wanted in on the picture action.

Speaking of school, we found out today that we will be rated EXEMPLARY for the first time! It was a very exciting day. When they made the announcement, the teachers were jumping up and down in the halls. When I went back in my class, one of my kiddos was standing up at my chair with a dictionary out reading the definition of the word exemplary to the whole class. Is that not the cutest thing? They had no idea why the teachers were so happy.
Look what I found! I want the orange one SOOOO bad.
This monitor is HANDS DOWN the best baby item we have bought this far (ok, well close in there with the swing and baby gates, but you get the picture). We love, love, love it. Lately we have been having fun watching Kayleigh play in her bed with her bear after we put her in there to go to sleep.

Good parents let their kids play in the dog's water bowl.
Please note the water on the wall and floor. When I picked her up after this she had a tantrum. Who know dirty water could be so much fun?
Eating Cheerios off of a plate.

A couple of cute pictures for the grandparents.

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS Amanda! Sic' Em!

Am I finally caught up with blogging now???? I sure hope so. Whew!
Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE a good deal. Well, I decided to print a FREE pattern off the internet. It only took 42 sheets of paper, a roll of tape, and an hour and a half.... TO PUT IT TOGETHER! I think next time I will just fork out the money for one that is ready to go.

FYI: The pattern came from this website.

Day 135

Our dear friends (and avid blog-readers), Alan and Alex were in town this weekend. We were so excited to get to hang out and catch up with them. Kayleigh has only met them one other time. It was about Kayleigh's nap time, so she was kinda a stinker at first. Alex let her play with her bracelets which made her so happy. We had to pry them from the Bear's hands when they left.

It was so, so, so great seeing you guys!
I'm pretty sure if I were to breath on Sean's shirt, it would completely fall apart. He refuses to let me throw it away. It couldn't be much longer before it falls apart in the was (hopefully).
After Kayleigh goes to sleep, I follow Sean around with the camera. These are the looks I get.

Day 134

She definitely got her daddy's eye lashes!

Just playing on the bed.

Day 133

If you think this face is cute.....

have a look at this one! We can't figure out if this is a happy or scared or what face, but it is sure cute. I can't help but laugh every time she does it!
