Home Sweet Home! by The Pioneer Woman

My littlest is already 2 months old today! We don't go to the doctor until Tuesday, so you will have to wait on his stats. Right now he is holding his head up pretty well. He usually sleeps from about 10 until 5 or 6 AM, which has been VERY nice. He still loves his pacifier, swing, and sister. He babbles (sometimes loudly) and makes the cutest little flirty smiles. We still swaddle him because he loves it and he will probably be in our room at night for a couple more months. We love him DEARLY and are so very, very thankful for him.
Sure, there is laundry piled up waiting to be washed.
It all started with a simple tube of pink princess chapstick that was tied to a Christmas present. Sadly, her Princess chapstick got lost at my parents house. We heard about it every 5 minutes for a week from her until THANKFULLY my mom found it! It has now become an outright obsession. The Bear must have her chapstick on her at all times. She has different names for each one, such as "PINK chapstick". She puts more on every couple of minutes and offers it to who ever is around (sanitary, huh?). She loves to stash them in her pocket and sometimes she sneaks them out of the house. Last Sunday "DADDY Chapstick" made its way to the church nursery where a "little girl broke it." I could really tell you about a hundred more adventures that we have had with chapstick the last couple of months, but I think you get the picture.
This little one has completely taken my heart. After having the Bear I truly never thought I could love another little toot as much as I adore her (even though I offered her to the lady in front of me at HEB Friday who told me that she was so sweet while she was laying on the ground screaming because I wouldn't buy her more Chapstick in the checkout line). There is just something about this little guy. Maybe it's his cute personality. Maybe it's the little smirk. Maybe it's the cute little peak that his hairline makes. Maybe it's the way he locks eyes with me. Maybe it's because he snores louder than Sean. Maybe it's the man burps. Maybe it's the fact that his head smells just like Sean's (weird, I know). Maybe it's the fact that he has been letting me sleep 6 hours in a row! Whatever it is, there is something special about my sweet, sweet baby boy.
I have been inspired by some friends to start cooking more from scratch. Truthfully I hate cooking and baking and all that goes with it.... especially the clean up. BUT I am trying my best to save money and to not feed our family junk. Kayleigh has really enjoyed this change because I let her help everyday. She helps me measure and stir..... and of course lick the spatula.... and then dip the spatula back in and lick it again.

Kayleigh has really started to get alot sweeter with Casen. She has started to help me out a little more and have less tantrums. Don't get me wrong, she still throws shoes and has a fits.... but it is getting better. She has even started sharing "White Doggy" (NOT to be confused with her precious "White Dog name Kayleigh on it") with him.
