Day 132

Poor Cosmo. Life has gotten really rough for him now that Kayleigh is mobile. He spends most of his time sitting on my overstuffed chair (which he has ruined) just watching her. Every now and then he will let his guard down, and she will grab his tail. He would neve hurt her, his just looks annoyingly at her, while she squeals, and walks off.

Day 131

This cracks me up. Some of my first memories of my mom are of her sticking out her tongue while she is concentrating really hard on something. Genetics are cool.

Teething babies chew on just about anything.

This week was our annual trip to Austin. There is nothing like 6 hours in a charter bus with 60 fourth graders. Even though I truly have a blast, I definitely earn my salary on this day. We headed to the Capitol, Bob Bullock Museum, Innerspace Caverns, and end the day eating at a BBQ restaurant. I wish I had more pictures to show, but this is the only one with no faces on it, sorry.

Day 130

Just so no one calls CPS on us, we did not have the bear in a backpack. We got one of these fancy backpacks with a carrier on it. Even though it doesn't look like it, she thinks it is really fun!

Day 129

Happy Mother's Day mommy. I have never appreciated my mom more than I do now. I love you.

Now I understand what being "mommy" is all about. I had no idea that having a baby would change me as much as it has. As silly as it sounds, today was exceptionally special to me. I can't believe that I actually get to be on the receiving end of Mother's Day now.

Sean treated me to a pazookie for Mother's Day. What is a pazookie you ask? Barely cooked cookie dough, with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream on top. Just one bite of one of these takes me right back to college where we would eat one about once a week!

I got 2 gifts from Kayleigh. She picked out a cute shirt for me from Express and A SERGER! I love, love, love it.
SNAPSHOT WARNING:

We went to the Fort Worth Zoo as a family for the first time. Kayleigh loved it!

All of the sudden, the Bear has decided that bananas are slippery and she does not like to pick them up. So we have been "forking" them and then handing it to her. She can eat it right off of the fork.
Well, today I thought it would be fun to see if she could feed herself. HA. I loaded up her spoon and she ate it. Then, she grabbed the applesauce container and ate it like this! It HAD to have been the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life!

I love that she actually held the spoon, but drank the applesauce.

Bath time.

My newest dress. I am obsessed with the Alexander Henry fabric. I just love all of the colors. After this picture, I moved the bow to the waist, it looks much better there.

Day 128

So Sean did the grocery shopping last week. He always comes back with SO MUCH JUNK FOOD! Well, today I found out that he bought cookies last week, and to keep me from fussing at him (and eating his cookies) he hid them in the little cabinet on top of the fridge. I caught him eating them red-handed when he THOUGHT I was back in our room.

After further discussion, I found out that this is something that he has been doing the whole time we have been married. EEsh!

Day 127

Boy howdy, was it a long day at school today. Sadly, today marked the end of teacher appreciation week. Bummer. I was spoiled rotten with goodies from my class.

Just some new ones of the bear and I. Isn't Sean getting good at taking pictures. I change all of the settings, then he adjusts the focal point and shoots. I am SO glad that he is so willing to learn to take good pictures.

This is how Kayleigh feels about hats. This weekend, she cried when my dad took off his hat. I don't blame her, she has only seen him without it a couple of times. Then tonight, Sean put on his hat to play softball and she did it again. I am SO glad my camera was right there.

Day 126

Kayleigh found an old friend today when we were cleaning up in her room. She carried it around and sucked on it for the better part of the morning. Can you believe how different she looks? Sometimes I forget how little she was such a short time ago.

She had no fever today at all. I already got a sub yesterday, so I was stuck at home. We played and we both took a good, long nap. All I can figure is that she is teething. We went through 3 shirts today because they were COVERED in drool. We will try daycare again tomorrow.

125

She is sick again. Once more, we got the "she has fever" call from daycare. When I dropped her off, she was not acting abnormal at all. She has since become very fussy and it took her about 2 hours to go down for the night. I am dreading going to sleep because I am sure she will wake us up again. I had to get a sub for tomorrow. UGHHH

124

Look at those teeth! This is the only picture I have of them!

This is what happens when I make up my mind to start sewing something at 9PM. My "model" was asleep so I just guessed at how big it should be.... HA. Of course it is way to small, but doesn't she look like she is having fun in it? I am really glad I didn't spend the time making straps and a ruffle for the bottom. Tomorrow I think this will become something else like a skirt maybe.

"Don't you even THINK about taking this remote from me. I am in charge now!"

Meet Pogo, Matt and Amanda's first born son.

Price and Kayleigh had a date on Saturday at Schmaltz. As you can tell, at first the conversation was lacking.
Until the Puffs came out....
... and Kayleigh out ate Price. So ladylike.

I think there will be a second date, how about Bush's next time? It would impress Kayleigh's mommy alot!

I love it when babies have clothes that look like adult clothing. I have this same pair of pants.

We are one step (literally) closer to walking. I hope that it is quite a while before she figures it out completely.

Please excuse the lack of clothing, this is currently Kayleigh's favorite outfit.

She usually could care less about looking at my camera, but not today. I am SO glad I got it out to shoot a few, I have definitely been feeling a photography slump.

Someone please tell this cutie that I would like a serger for my first Mother's Day.

We have curls!

Day 123

My newest creation. I am absolutely in LOVE with it and can't wait to put it on the Bear. The colors in the first picture are wonky, they are more like the second one.

Sunday, May 4, 2008

The Bear and I went to Waco this weekend. I took her to her first baseball game. She was SO good. She was of course wearing her "Baylor Girl" t-shirt. Her grandparents had a great time showing her off. One of her favorite people in the world, (soon-to-be) Aunt Amanda, even taught her how to Sic 'Em.

There will be more Waco pictures tomorrow. For now, I am tired, grumpy, and my scratch disk if full (whatever that means).

Day 122

TAKS is officially over for another year. How did we celebrate? Of course with a PJ day and a movie. We watched "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" and "Run Away Ralph." Oh my goodness! I forgot how much I LOVE this series! It takes ME back to being in 4th grade on movie day. I just love it when Ralph gets on the motorcycle for the first time and makes the "vroom vroom" sound. Do you remember these?
PS: don't look at the picture too long, I did a zooming while taking a picture thing. It is making me nauseous.

Thursday, May 1, 2008

I always wanted to marry a baseball player, and I did. Because of this, few things make me happier than to watch my husband play baseball (or err.... softball) . Doesn't he just look so cute in his "uniform?"
