First Braid!

When I picked the Bear up today, the lady that keeps her had braided her hair. I am soo impressed that she sat still long enough to let her do it! Sooo cute!

I feel like I am the type of person that can make just about anything.... but I have NEVER been able to french braid. I have tried and tried and just can't make it happen. So I guess you won't see many pictures of braids unless someone else does it!

What a Day!

Well, we had a long day. Sean was at church all day (with his phone off), so I had the Bear alone. We ran a few errands and came home. When we got home, I ran the dogs outback to go potty. I usually take the Bear, but this time I left her inside (yeah, you can see where this is going.) Don't call CPS, I could see her up against the sliding glass door the whole time. Well, she picked up the stick that we keep in the track so no one can break in and she put it back in the track..... locking herself in the house. My heart dropped. I jumped over the fence (haven't done that in 15 years) and ran next door. After the neighbors and I tried to get her to pick it up, we had to resort to calling the fire department. An hour and a half after she put the stick in, I had the Bear in my arms. Don't worry, she wasn't too upset. She found her bowl of Goldfish and ate them while she watched the firefighters. I feel like a horrible, awful, no good, very bad mom. I cried, hugged her, and then made sure I got a quick picture for the blog.

Vrooom, Vroom!

PICTURE FROM MY CAMERA PHONE

I usually grocery shop at Walmart, because well... I love Walmart. On Friday we ran into Tom Thumb really quick to grab a coulple of things. I let the Bear take a ride in one of those germ infested cars stuck on the carts. Of course she LOVED it. She "drove" the whole time saying "ZROOM, ZROOM." When I parked it, I got her out and she ran to another one. I had to drag her out kicking and screaming from the store.

Already?

I guess it is about time for us to invest in some of those annoying door handle thingies. I trully thought we had AT LEAST 6 more months before this would happen. Little stinker.

Tiny Dancer

I have seen ALOT of this little dance lately. It amazes me how smart she has gotten, she knows that she has to push the toaster 3 times to get to the song that she likes!

Oh, and at the end she sees Cosmo outside and gives him a kiss through the glass.

I Ate the Middle

My mom seriously makes the best cinnamon rolls ever. I only get them once a year at Christmas. Long story short, I had my wisdom teeth out 2 days before Christmas and so I couldn't eat my share, so I hid a pan of them. Sounds like I have been around this guy too long!

I decided to eat the middle tonight, because everyone know that is the best part! Sadly, after saving it I over-nuked it in the microwave and it was hard as a rock. I almost cried, and then I ate it anyway.

Instead of a birthday cake this year, can we have cinnamon rolls with double the icing? I am serious. If you have time? Please?

33 Bags!

Sean and I literally spent an entire day raking the leaves in our backyard. 33 bags later, I am laying in bed aching from all of the work! Oh, and the picture was Sean's idea, I am training him well. Everything thing we do now he asks if we should get a picture for the blog.

This was the extent of the Bear's help.

Shooo!

I don't know why we continue to buy this child toys, all she plays with are shoes. I thought these looked funny! She is very talented, she can put them right side up and step into them. She does not need any help! Then she walks around the house. I will have to get a picture of her wearing Sean's boots, they make me giggle everytime.

Big Girl!

The Bear ate her entire breakfast this morning sitting at her little table. I just can't believe how my baby is growing up.

And yes, she is eating Captain Crunch.... Old Mother Hubbard has not yet made it to the grocery store since getting back in town!

A Smile!

Kayleigh Bear is so serious all the time. I finally got a cute little grin out of her after nap time today!

Christmas!

I would love to post pictures of the fabulous Christmas that we had, but I have lost the card with them on it. I have searched high and low and it is NO WHERE! I will post them when (or if) it turns up!

PS: This is my 365th blog post on this blog. There were 110 on Kayleigh's blog, so that makes 475 posts!

PPS: You should go check out the present that I made the Pricer for Christmas. I went a little overboard, but I had so much fun making it! Click here.

Eeesh......

I was at the mall at 8:30 this morning so that I could stand in line for 30 minutes to get us a ticket to come back and see Santa tonight so that she could sit on Santa's lap for all of 2 seconds and scream.
This is the best picture I got.

Last year's picture with Santa. I simply cannot believe how different she looks!

Happy Anniversary

Sean and I celebrated our 3 anniversary on Wednesday. I will spare y'all with the sappy stuff about how much I (usually) love my husband and how fabulous he is.

We were going to go to Chuy's as a family to celebrate, but the Bear decided to throw a HUGE hissy fit and we got scared to take her there, so we just went and had a romantic dinner at Burger House.

The night we got married, we celebrated with an ice cream cone at McDonalds. The ladies behind the counter got such a kick out of us strolling in that that gave us our comes free. It must have been devine intervention that they even had ice cream that night because usually they are "out"(aka cleaning the machine so they can go home early) past 9:00 pm.

Celebrating our third anniversary at Burger House with the Bear in tow.

Christmas Lights

On Saturday, we had plans to go to the Gaylord Texan with Jen and Kenn to see the decorations and Santa. After waiting for an hour to get to the parking garage, we all decided that we had enough. We settled for pizza and a nice drive around Deerfield in Plano. My favorite was the house (pictured above) that was broadcasting their own music on the radio and had their lights synced to the music. It was like something out of a movie! It was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
Kayleigh loved the lights! Even though it was late she stayed up and watched all of the lights. Every once in a while she would point to something and babble about it.

A little out of focus?

Thank you!

Dear Grandma,
Thank you for the Christmas card. Mommy let me open it since it was addressed to me. I spent an hour carrying it around and listening to the music. I think the best part was your school picture inside, you are so silly!

I miss you!
Love,
Kayleigh

Sean's Job

Sean is always talking about work to me. He might as well be speaking Chinese, because I have NO idea what he is talking about. Looks like jibberish to me, what do you think?

Christmas Party!

We had our "fancy" dinner for Sean's work Christmas party this weekend. My in-laws came to town and actually too Kayleigh to my sister-in-laws house to spend the night. We slept in until 10:30 the next morning (it was AMAZING), ate some Chickfila, and did a little Christmas shopping. What a GREAT Saturday!

PS - I truly despise how huge my arm looks in this picture, but I decided to post it for my memory sake. Ughh, I have GOT to start working out.... seriously!

Baby Jesus

When I put out my nativity the other day, I wanted to show Kayleigh Baby Jesus. She was too busy running around an throwing this as usual. So, I picked up Cosmo and told Cosmo about Baby Jesus. Being the jealous sister that she is, she immediately ran over so that he wouldn't get my attention. I showed Kayleigh Jesus and I told her a little bit about him. She even gave him a kiss (she is SO into babies right now). Fast forward to last night: We were in the living room and she started to get up on her tiptoes to see and the said "Baby Jesus." I promise! She did, just ask Sean.

Talk about a proud mommy moment!

Winter Mix

Tonight we got a tiny bit of snow and sleet (can you see it on the blanket?). It's amazing that even as an adult, this makes me giddy inside. I want to go stand out and let it fall all over me, eat it, or maybe make a little "sleet man." I'm not going to lie, though the weather man said there's no way it will stick, I am still going to get up at 6:30 in hopes that maybe... just maybe.... we won't have school tomorrow. It's ridiculous, I know.... but I seriously need a break from school!

The Playground

The Bear had a blast today on the swings. For the first time, she rode them back and forth and kept saying "Wheeee." It was (of course) precious.

These were all taken with the camera on my phone.

Little Stinker

At least 5 times a night, here is the dialogue at our house:

Me: K-Bear, will you please give mommy a kiss?
Kayleigh: NO! (runs off to play with something more important than mommy)

Even thought she doesn't mean it at all, it hurts my feelings just a little bit. Maybe I should just stop asking.

Recess

Can I explain to you how much I utterly HATE recess at this time of year? It is so STINKIN cold and MISERABLE. I truly dread going out each day. I don't mind September when it is 100+ at 12:00 when we go out, but I can't handle anything under 50 degrees.

On another note, in case you didn't know teachers have assigned seats. I have sat in this particular seat at recess everyday for 2 and a half years now. Though the people I sit with have changes slightly, this is MY seat. There are also assigned seats and tables in the teachers lounge. Though it is unspoken, we sit at the same table in the same seats everyday. Every once in a while a sub will come in and unknowingly sit in my chair. I then spend the next 5 minutes wandering around with lunch figuring out where I should sit.

Teachers, chime in here. Are there unspoken seats at your school? Is it just me being bratty?

Thank you!!!

I got the most FABULOUS Christmas gift in the mail from Cheeser today! Few things make me happier than a yard of nice, funky fabric. I think I have a fabric addiction (nerdy, I know). I just adore this Alexander Henry print, I will have a hard time actually cutting into it. Thank you, thank you, thank you, I LOVE it!!!

Now, what should I make?

Just say something, please?

Here is a picture of the Bear decked out in a Christmas outfit I made for her.

I want so badly for her to say "Merry Christmas" or "ho, ho, ho" or ANYTHING that has to do with Christmas. No matter how many times I try to get her to say it, she just looks at me like I am crazy. Eesh.

Ride 'Em Cowgirl!

I get a kick of how Kayleigh "rides" her pony around the house.
