Kaska Farm

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Kaska family farm with some of our friends. It was cold, wet and extremely muddy. After the Boyd's car got stuck in the mud, we had a great time. There were rubber duck races, a tractor cow, a corn maze, and a box of corn to play in like sand. Even though we were covered in mud, we had a GREAT time!

Why you don't bargain with a toddler.....

... without checking the weather first.

We have been having a problem with Kayleigh eating NOTHING for dinner. Not only do I know that she will be hanging on the fridge in a few hours begging for "yo-yo," she is wasting so much food! Most nights we will bargain with her. After playing with her food through dinner last night, we told her that she had to finish her "yo-yo" before we could go swing. I left it on the table for a little bit while I cleaned up, and after a while she came over and finished it..... just in time for it to start raining. Being that she is 2 and VERY difficult to reason with, Sean had to go stand out in the rain and swing her. She enjoyed every minute of it (and so did I from the porch!).

Goin' to the Zoo Zoo Zoo

We decided to go spend some much needed family time together at the zoo on Sunday. Daddy has been gone for a week and it was really nice to go play together. We went ahead and got a family membership, so now we can go when ever we want!

October already???

Where does the time go?
With all of my crazy pregnancy hormones, I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that I can't keep the Bear little forever. Eesh. It seems like just yesterday that we brought her home, I was elated to see a cheeky little smile from her round face, then coaxed her to sit up and crawl. I couldn't believe when she walked, turned 1, and started to talk. I can't believe that she is now 2 and we can carry on sweet conversations all day and watch Sesame Street together. She can count, knows MOST of her colors, and can even match the correct lid with her sippy cups. She puts her dirty clothes away every night before her bath and tries so hard to be a big girl by washing herself.
As sad as it is that she is not my sweet little baby, I can be comforted that she still cuddles, and kisses. She still wants me to carry her around after her bath in a towel. She still is excited to see me every morning. She still likes me to put Butt Paste on her tush, just like when she was a baby. She is still my baby.... but I feel like everyday that slips a little further away. MY how I wish time would stop, even if just for a few moments.

Just Keep Scrollin'

I have been trying to catch up with posts....

PS - What could be more cute than a 2 year old drinking Capri Sun in fairy wings?

DONUTS!

Man, this pregnancy I have had a serious sweet tooth. With Kayleigh I just wanted fried food all the time, but this time it is SUGAR. I really wanted a chocolate doughnut with sprinkles everyday last week, so Sean went out and got us some Sunday. I am not sure who enjoyed them more me or you-know-who...

Home Owners!

We closed on our first house on August 21, 2009!

Home Improvement

We (mainly Sean) have done some things to the house already, just to make it ours.

We have:
1. painted the front door red
2. painted the dining room a different shade of green
3. painted Kayleigh's room Pepto Bismol pink
4. replaced all of the brass (blech) door knobs
5. updated 2 fans
6. unsuccessfully tried to match 2 different paint colors

Of course, we would have never been able to have gotten this much done if it weren't for the help of our parents.... THANK YOU!

Swings!

The people that we bought the house from left us their swing set (yeah! I had been starting to hint to Sean that it would be nice to have one). We go swing pretty much everyday. Of course, the Bear loves it.

Puppy Love

Kayleigh is so obsessed with dogs. She loves giving Pawpaw's doggies treats every time she goes over there. At GP's house, she talks about the big dogs and always wants to go say hi to them through the fence. I am pretty sure her favorite dog is Maggie, Naanaa's puppy, because she talks about her everyday. For the record, I am pretty convinved that she thinks Cosmo is a human just like he does because she never talks about him being a dog.

Pregnancy Update

Well, here I am in all my glory at 27 weeks. We still don't have a name for our sweet little boy that will be here in LESS THAN 3 months.... eeek! As of right now, he is still feet down which I could have undoubtedly told you. It is amazing to me how different he already is than Kayleigh Bear. She rarely ever moved, and even if so they weren't very forceful. She is still a pretty chilled out kiddo. This little guy on the other hand has been absolutely beating me up from the inside. Sometimes it is fun, like when my whole stomach jumps. Other times, it is not as fun..... like when he kicks my bladder. I am so interested to see what he will turn out to be like. I am starting to get a little anxious about having 2 kids. Kayleigh and I have such a nice little routine down.... I can't help but wonder what is going to happen.
Oh, and Sean asked me to marry him again. Not really, but we went and bought a big fake Kohl's ring because my fingers are too fat. He did have Kayleigh come bring it to me and say "Marry Daddy." I thought it was kinda cute.

Wow.

Has it really been since July that I last blogged? I am sure that no one reads this anymore, but I promised Sean that I would post before I went to bed.

Since July, we have had some BIG changes:
1. We picked up and moved from Big D to Waco.
2. We bought a precious little house, pictures to come.
3. We found out that we are having a BOY.
4. I have become an official stay-at-home mommy.
5. Our little toot turned 2 years old!

Don't worry, I have still been taking pictures and will start posting them shortly.

Oh, and I am on a new monitor, so if the picture above looks like a funny color to you, please leave me a comment. Is it blue?

This Kid Has Made My Job So Easy!

Well, I have been hesitating to post about this for a while for a few reasons.
1. I don't want to brag.
2. I don't want anyone to think I am one of those crazy moms that insists that my child use the potty. I promise, I am not!
3. I don't want to jinx it.

Kayleigh is now potty trained with the exception of sleeping. Seriously, at 23 months she does not wear a single diaper unless sleeping, and I am not constantly wiping up tee tee off the floor. In fact, this week she has only had 3 accidents. One was at On The Border, and 2 were tickling on the bed related (so they don't count, they were daddy's fault!). In fact, today we went to the mall for 3 and a half hours and there wasn't even an accident there and she only asked to use the potty twice.

I would love to tell you that I had anything to do with this magnificent transformation, but in reality she kinda potty trained herself. A couple of weeks ago she started freaking out everytime single time she went tee tee in her diaper. She told me they were "ucky." After about 15 diapers in a day, I had enough. I bought her some panties and M&M's. She knew exactly what she was supposed to do and has been going on the little potty (which I SWORE that I would never use) ever since.

So, there you have it. OH.... and I know, the next one will not be as easy as she has been. We are already preparing!

Pre-Pee (Pretty)

Kayleigh loves having her toenails painted. My mom painted these for her. When she walks around she looks down at them. If they catch her eyes she will say pre-pee and makes sure that everyone around see them. She is sooo girly!

16 Weeks

I did a horrible job of documenting my pregnancy with the bear, so I am trying to be better. Feel free to not read this.

Here I am at 16 weeks with the new baby. I have only gained 10 pounds so far, which considering I gained 60 last time, I think I am doing pretty good. I still have ridiculous cravings for Big Red, but unlike last time I am trying to ignore them. Other than that, I really don't have as much of an appetite as I did last time. Which is good because I am bound and determined to fit in that 25-35 pound weight gain thing.

I have been having some wicked heart burn with this one, so I have just resorted to drinking Maalox out of the bottle even though I am sure that a milkshake would make me feel much better :).

At my appointment today, the baby's heart rate was 140. In 2 weeks we go for our big ultrasound. I think it is a boy.... but I don't feel as strongly about it as I did with Kayleigh. I knew she was a girl.

PS - I am not wearing makeup and my hair is a mess, so I photoshopped some glasses and a hat.

MY house.

I made Kayleigh a play tent to go over the card table like I made price. She calls it "MY house." She is constantly wanting me, Sean, or Cosmo to get in there and read books with her. Last week she even ate breakfast in there by herself. She has been having so much fun, but it will have to come down soon because I am getting tired of tripping on it!

Sweet Summertime

We love to go hangout in the back yard when daddy gets home from work. We let Kayleigh eat her popsicles out there..... for obvious reasons. Even her "slow melt" popsicles can't stand up the the heat we have been having lately....ughhh.

Splash Park!

There is a splash park down the street from our house. I take Kayleigh all the time, mainly so that she will take a good nap. Sh absolutely loves to go "play."

Well......

I don't think she is so sure about this....

My new little sister, Maggie!

Water Hose Fun!

We had Sean's family over last weekend and somehow the kiddos ended up playing with the water hose. They had a great time and made a huge mess!

We don't bite Daddy.

Kayleigh- Today you bit daddy because you didn't want to put your shirt on, you wanted to keep coloring. He wanted to be upset with you, but it was just too funny.

Friends

Lately everywhere we go Kayleigh needs: "ite-iog" (white dog), "E-eyor" (Eeyore), and a blankee. I make her carry them (I know, mean mommy) because I hope that she will realize that she does not need them all. Well, she could care less. She is so good at loading up her little arms with a blanket, White Dog, Eeyore, and a cup. It is such a site!

Oh, and something cute about White Dog and Eeyore: She got attached to both of them completely on their own. Matt and Amanda gave her (the first) White Dog, and Jackie gave her Eeyore. So each of her friends came from one of our siblings. I thought that was sweet.

Color Time

The Bear loves to color on the table, the couch, the floor, junk mail, Cosmo...... you get the picture. So have resorted to making her sit in her high chair. I got her this cute "moo" marker the other day that moos when you put on the cap. She of course loved it and it kept her busy long enough for me to cook dinner. I think she looks like a lovely little artist, don't you?

Oh yeah, and sorry for the rotten job I did on my blogging spree. I mean ridiculous. I have plenty of excuses.... computer problems, photography dry spell, a big project that I am working on.... is that enough?

Horsey...

Also known as Daddy is a pushover and just can't say no to his little girl! I don't know how he does it, but he will play horsey with the Bear on the tile floor! You can't tell from the dumbfounded look in the pictures, but she really loves it!

Blogging Spree

So apparently people have stopped reading my blog (no names, Alan). Not that there has been anything to read lately.... so I am challenging myself to a one month blogging spree. I will blog something everyday until May 16.

Get excited!

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to our church's Easter egg hunt on Saturday. It was so cute to see Kayleigh actually get it this year. Last year she only got one egg, and then a kid came and grabbed it from her. I thought the whole thing was going to be a bust because we got there about 20 minutes early. Kayleigh wanted to go pick up the eggs (or as she called them "balls") so badly. We had to hold her back. After a donut and talking to some friends, she cooled down. When it was time she knew exactly what to do. She was so cute picking up as many eggs as she could. They were falling out of her basket just as quickly as they went in. One of the eggs broke open and she figured out that they were all full of MA MAOOOs (marshmellos), and the hunting was over....

We had such a good time!

My Sweet Kayleigh Bear,

You have become a toddler in every sense of the word. You are into everything. You could eat crackers and ranch dressing all day long and be happy. You have me read you Go Dog, Go over and over.... so much that I have it memorized. You are obsessed with puppies and point them out every time you see one. You love to test the limits. I have to tell you daily not to stand on your table, but you look at me and do it anyway. You color in your nice books no matter how many times I tell you not to. When I take away your crayons, you throw yourself on the floor and kick and scream for a few minutes before you get distracted. Oh, and yesterday you wrote on my coffee table with the blue crayon. Eesh.... You are obsessed with shoes. You love to wear our shoes around the house. Today in Old Navy you threw a fit because I didn't buy you a pair of flip flops. You threw your Croc halfway across the store because you were angry. I guess that was better than hitting yourself in the head.... that is what you usually do. You call anything you drink "milk." You don't really like water (or as you call it "milk") but you LOVE the milk out of the fridge. You are quite bossy also. You tell daddy everyday where to put Cosmo's food and drag us around the house to get us to do what you want. You are quite the cuddlebug and share bear when it comes to mommy and daddy. I love to hear you "talk" to yourself while you are laying in your crib in the mornings. I love you SO, SO much. Please stop growing up.

Love, Mommy
